We're back!

Sorry for the absence, folks. Your humble Premiership blogger makes his salary by working in the world of Wall Street...as you can imagine, it's been a busy couple of weeks.

But we're back now and ready for uninterrupted Premiership coverage from here on out, or at least until the next financial apocalypse threatens our way of life.

Normal service will resume tomorrow with a weekend preview. In the meantime, here's some interesting facts about the importance of games between the Big Four. Bad news for Manchester United fans, who've seen their club take just one point from two games in that mini-league.

Oh, and for those of you who don't know, Terry Venables was a great club manager...in the 1980s. And England manager...in the 1990s. And a fairly mediocre manager in 2000s. (Not to mention the crappy job he did with England last year.)

So, here we have a man at least a decade removed from his peak, who's really got no business being a frontline manager any more. He's more of a media figure than anything else at this point in his career. So of course, it should come as no surprise, that the biggest shambles in English football wants him to take over. It's almost enough to make one pity those crazy Geordie fans. Almost.
