How Much Longer Does Hughes Have?

Manchester City have been in a terrible run of form in the Premiership, but they should have been able to beat Nottingham Forest at home. Shoulda woulda coulda:

City were left humiliated as goals by Nathan Tyson, Robert Earnshaw and substitute Joe Garner earned Nottingham Forest, struggling in 21st position in the Championship table, a famous victory that increased the pressure on [City manager Mark] Hughes.

Dear oh dear. Also in the story there's talk of Hughes trying to sign Craig Bellamy, Roque Santa Cruz and Shay Given, while this article in The Times claims that Scott Parker and, surprisingly, Arsenal's Kolo Toure are also on his shopping list . Good idea, because unlike the superstar names linked with City, all of the above are proven Premiership performers who shouldn't need too long to adjust. And with City in a relegation battle, one wonders how long the club's owners are willing to give their manager.

Update: Monday's Guardian provides a more detailed account of how City plan to splash the cash this month.
